File 5: The Fabulous Mediterranean Mansion

This house is a fabulous Mediterranean mansion, designed by Charles Henry Thompson, in 1915, for King Camp Gillette, who started the Gillette razor company, is now opened for filming. This first floor of this 9,000 square foot plus house is done in Honduran Mahogany that gives it a rich, formal look. The wood is in the entrance foyer, formal dining room, living room and two adjacent room that form the downstairs communal areas. There is also a large sun room that runs the whole length of the back of the house. The Mahogany runs the length of the dramatic staircase that leads to the second floor, that has seven or eight bedrooms including a master suite. Included up there are also walk in closets and dressing rooms. The exterior plot is 1.25 acres and has a pool and large parking pad on the side of the house. There is also a basement with a walk-in wine cellar.
